Special Effects

I thought it would be a useful idea to research special effects that we could use for our own project. The difficulty in this area is we may be limited to what we can actually do. We do not have money to achieve some we may desire to use and it could make the process of making our videos far more complicated that we had planned. As mentioned in a previous post, we all found we liked the idea of using a 'doll' like character as this would intergrate well with our plans of having a music box sountrack. When watching the music video of Lady gaga, bad romance which has a certain 'creepy' feel to it, there was a particular shot when she had used special effects to enlarge her eyes. This was very doll like but also quite scary and abnormal to witness. It would seem most likely this idea would be too far fetched, yet it opened my mind to the possibilty of using special effects even if it is changing the effect of the video to black and white. I discussed this with my group and we thought we could make the film with an old fashioned effect, as if it had been made back when videos had just come about. An example of this can be seen when watching a silent movie.
