Building suspense

The title sequence for 'seven' builds suspense well, the close up images are hard to make out, it is unclear what is happening, the more unusual the images are the more intriguing the film becomes. Title sequences are used to reel in the attention of the audience, so it is importance to not give too much away. I think it is more effective not to show the main character fully in the title sequence, eery music, and close up blurred images are more effective and give a vague idea of the films story. I think a slow paced start is a better way to introduce a film so the tension builds. Showing a image of something that is important to the plot: For example in 'One hour photo' showing cameras and printing rooms makes the audience immediately realise this is key to the plot.
